Harriette creates intricate prints inspired by her surroundings. Her work often depicts colourful flowers and plants – from big and bold glowing sunflowers, to miniature curly-petaled English bluebells. Harriette likes to work in a range of scales to challenge her ability to include the tiniest of details.
Working predominantly in Linocut, Harriette’s prints have a graphic, clean style with definite lines and block colours. However, her recent extension into dry point etching (using upcycled Tetra Pak) has a moodier and more sketch-like quality.
As a keen hiker, Harriette enjoys capturing the views and wild flora found on her walks using a variety of mediums. These sketches and paintings are used to inspire her prints later in her studio. Her recent multi-day hiking trips of the Cleveland Way and South Downs Way are fresh inspiration for a new range of work featuring expansive views and local birds.
