Lucie Ware is a linocut and cyanotype printmaker as well as an oil painter. Her style ranges from figurative to semi-abstract images where a feel for process is often at the forefront; she plays with the unpredictability of sunlight to expose emotional cyanotype photograms and photographs and relishes the meditative repetition and boldness of linocut mark-making. Creative collaboration is an important part of Lucie’s work, as a co-founder of ArtHouseBound: a collective of predominantly housebound artists in North Yorkshire.
Lucie’s first exhibition was a joint project in Helmsley, 2018. Since then she has had work in online US literary journal Peatsmoke as well as several local exhibitions, cafes and market stalls, including a charity auction for Mind and York River Art Market. Her work is to be found on www.lucieware.org, ArtHouseBound on Etsy and @lwpaint_print on Instagram.
