Meredith Andrea is a figurative printmaker, an interpreter of what she sees around her – her allotment, local area, and domestic environment. She works in linocut, woodcut and collagraph. Meredith particularly enjoys the precision of line of lino and woodcuts, and their possibility for using colour in several graded layers. But Meredith finds that subjects she is interested in usually have their own opinions about how they should be rendered, and sometimes the spontaneity and fluidity of collagraph seem to be called for.
Meredith prints on a Hawthorn etching press. She also creates lino prints on cotton textiles using Speedball fabric inks and makes them into throws, tablecloths and lampshades for domestic interiors.
