Phill is a retired software developer with a keen interest in photography, print making, and graphic design. He does a fair bit of the later – fliers posters, leaflets, news letters and such like for a variety of clients.
Following a linocut weekend workshop a few years ago Phill has slowly developed his printmaking skills. His first few prints were simple Christmas cards. He still regards himself as a beginner but has equipped a small studio in the spare bedroom. After recently acquiring a Hawthorn press Phill is now challenging himself with some more ambitious prints.
Phill’s inspiration largely derives from nature – landscapes, birds, animals, trees, stones and the like. He also enjoys the graphic nature of architecture and has recently become fascinated by Islamic and Celtic designs. Calligraphy and lettering also attract his interest.
