Robin Linklater, now happily retired in York after teaching Theatre Design in Nottingham, is catching up with drawing and painting of his own. Printing is quite a recent enthusiasm but as his studio is a back bedroom, work stays very small and very low tech; principally lino-cut and dry point.
So far, work has been spasmodic and as a series of learning curves, some more successful than others. Sketch books have been raided to produce decorative or illustrative prints in extremely small editions, often in themed groups, like the stone carvers, landscapes etc. The dry-points are relatively recent.
Printing ideas are often tried out in small (A6) books for the family which can been seen as ‘flip books’ along with the rest of his work (for sale) on www.robinlinklater.uk
